Clean Energy

In the journey towards sustainability, clean energy is also part of the key solutions provided by RENEXUS. RENEXUS, backed with collaborative partners, is undertaking the responsibilities of providing top-end clean energy solutions to the industry, undergirded by the adoption of proven and progressive technology in the field.

Renewable energy is growing rapidly and becoming a popular alternative source of energy. Malaysia is looking forward to achieving 50% implementation of renewable energy by 2050. In accordance with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Goal Developments (SDGs) Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, which aim to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.

Through the clean energy solutions provided by RENEXUS, a variety of scientifically accurate and innovative technologies such as Advanced Hybrid System, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Automation and Robotics Engineering towards IR 4.0 are applied in order to uplift the standard of solutions that providing to the market & also accelerates the process to achieve the goal - Affordable and Clean Energy.

Malaysia has vast potential of renewable energy resources in the form of biomass, hydropower and solar energy. RENEXUS plays an instrumental role in conserving nature by reducing the use of natural gas & coal in electricity generation and utilize the resources to produce renewable energy to the country.

In addition, the clean energy industry generates hundreds of billions in economic activity, and is expected to continue to grow rapidly in the coming years. There is tremendous economic opportunity for the countries that invent, manufacture and export clean energy technologies.

Solar Energy

To meet the escalating clean energy demands around the world, RENEXUS and its consortium partner are bringing in the industry-leading solar energy solution in the market with our breakthrough technology - Anti-Reflective coating for solar glass that manage to extrude a significant 3% power gain compared to non-treated glass.

The use of Fossil Fuels - Non-renewable energy source is heavily contributing to climate change, and also a critical obstacle to clean energy today.

Moving towards the clean era, solar power is a vital energy source in the move to clean energy production as the sun provides more energy than we will ever need. Solar energy can be obtained directly from the sun even during cloudy weather and it is being widely used to generate heat and electricity. According to an article from Star in 2019, solar energy can generate 1.4 times more electricity compared with the conventional electricity generation of fossil fuel burning if all roofs use solar panels in Peninsular Malaysia.

Our scientifically proven power boosting technology uses exclusive and pioneering technology to reduce the amount of sunlight reflected off solar panels and manage to deliver a higher output gains of 3% compared to non-coated modules. The AR coating is created by depositing a layer of thin, highly porous silica-based film onto the surface of a glass plate. This reduces the amount of light reflected from the surface of the glass – thereby ensuring the highest possible transmission of light and maximizing the solar power output.

Our solar solution provides a family of grades - from standard AR coatings to Neutral AR coatings that featuring extreme high transmission for high power modules. It helps user to increase the power output and lower the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE), our Neutral AR coating is deal for high-aesthetic applications like residential rooftops.
With providing the top-end solution that underpinned by superior technology and science, RENEXUS is now driving the solar industry and leading the trend towards clean energy. We believe, with the established and trusted technology, our solar innovation will be the catalyst for the global goal of clean energy.

Hydropower Energy

Malaysia is rich in hydro potential, with high temperature and humidity all year round plus a high rainfall volume. These factors make Malaysia one of the largest hydropower potential areas.

RENEXUS and its consortium partners took the great opportunity of the suitability of Malaysia’s natural topography to support the initiative of energy conservation for a better future through hydropower.

Hydropower, using the potential energy of rivers, is by far the best-established means of electricity generation from renewable sources. It may also be large-scale as nine of the ten largest power plants in the world are hydro, using dams on rivers. China’s Three Gorges leads with 22.5 GWe, then Itaipu in Brazil with 14 GWe and Xiluodu in China, 13.9 GWe. In contrast to wind and solar generation, hydro plants have considerable mechanical inertia and are synchronous, helping with grid stability.

Turbines and generators convert the energy into electricity, which is then fed into the electrical grid to be used in homes, businesses, and by industry.

Additionally, hydropower costs less than most energy sources. States like Idaho, Washington, and Oregon, that get the majority of their electricity from hydropower, have energy bills that are lower than the rest of the country.
Small hydropower is a great alternative to the traditional electricity generation method especially for rural areas. With its hilly topography and an abundant number of streams flowing to foothills, Malaysia offers many potential sites for run-of-river small hydropower.

Biomass Energy

Biomass is an organic renewable energy source that includes materials such as agriculture and forest residues, energy crops, and algae. RENEXUS aims to convert this biomass being produced by mainly the agricultural sector into clean energy to conserve the environment. Biomass can be used to replace the traditional oil and gas mining method to generate heat and electricity for general usage.

Based on Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Malaysia being a major agricultural commodity producer in the region produces at least 168 million tonnes of biomass, including timber and oil palm waste, rice husks, coconut trunk fibers, municipal waste and sugarcane waste annually.

The agricultural waste produced creates an opportunity for Malaysia to grow in the biomass sector. Biomass can be converted into different forms by using various processes, the three main products are power or heat generation, transportation fuels and chemical feedstock.

In addition, intensive use of biomass as a renewable energy source could reduce dependency on fossil fuels and significant advantage lies in reduction of net carbon dioxide emissions to the atmosphere leading to less greenhouse effect.

Taking into account the growing energy consumption and domestic energy supply constraints, Malaysia has set sustainable development and diversification of energy sources, as the economy’s main energy policy goals.

The Five-Fuel Strategy of Malaysia recognises renewable energy resources as the economy’s fifth fuel after oil, coal, natural gas and hydro. Being a major agricultural commodity producer in the region Malaysia is well positioned amongst the ASEAN countries to promote the use of biomass as a source of renewable energy.
